Proving the minds at Glee don’t care if they’re the last ones to tackle a meme, cast members unveiled the first look at their upcoming performance of “Gangnam Style,” slated for November. New Directions will bring Psy’s crossover hit to Sectionals, surely shocking some of the more—how do we put this?—xenophobic Ohioans Ryan Murphy’s team of writers has created for TV audiences. Thank goodness for that familiar black-and-metallic color scheme! If things truly go off the rails by the horse-dancing, just close your eyes and think back to Rachel and Finn-helmed Journey medley. We know Mr. Schue will be. But where are the bow ties?
Darren Criss, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz have the honors of outlining the upcoming performance sequence, flipping between rehearsal footage to a sneak peek at the finished product. Even if Darren can’t figure out how to correctly execute a “Glee” and “Gangnam” pun, we appreciate what he looks like while trying. Go watch his version of “Falling Slowly” again if that momentary verbal flub didn’t win you over. And for all those concerned about Glee‘s fate this season, at least you can’t say the entire cast doesn’t work up a sweat week after week—Chord Overstreet in particular. Watch below.
