Now that he’s a high school graduate, Drake has the option of pursuing some higher education in between his recording sessions. The new owner of a bright and shiny diploma let his collegiate allegiance (or at least simple color preference) show during a performance at Howard University’s homecoming event in Washington, D.C. on Friday. While it was a party for current students, alumni and friends of the university, Drake took a moment to shout-out his own accomplishments during his set. “I made the decision for the last like four months, I went back to high school and I graduated high school,” he said. “So you see what my campaign is about this year, because I went right to the bookstore, I’m trying to come to school with y’all.” Careful, Drizzy. Before you know it they’ll be stamping your face all over their prospective student material.
Given the celebratory mood, Drizzy performed jubilant tracks like “HYFR,” “Pop That” and “The Motto,” charming the wet crowd with his stupid-happy grins, which rival those he sported when he ran into Dipset, and Bison pride. It looks like so much fun, we’d almost go back to high school just to experience the same feeling of ecstasy. (We said almost.) Watch below.
