Hating on blogs is a trendy thing among famous people, as a way to show that you’re above getting sucked into petty dramas and that you don’t let your own press affect you and all that good professional stuff. Never mind that some of us bloggers are like, totally nice people with interesting points to make and worthwhile things to say—we’ll still be dismissed summarily by their likes as the lowest of the low, drowning at the bottom of the sea with all the world’s lawyers in the punchlines to corny jokes.
We never knew that Christina Aguilera was among these haters, but based on her recent comments at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Conference, it appears that Xtina shares this bottomless opinion of the blogging community. From the Hollywood Reporter :
‘Now everyone is a critic,’ she said with a smile, on the subject of the tabloid press and online bloggers. ‘I don’t read blogs. It’s just God-knows-who in Buttf— wherever writing hate sh–. You can’t take it seriously. I’m sure you’ve all been hated on at some point by buttf— people.’
Well. When Christina wants to stop with her negative stereotyping and unfair summarizing, she can feel free to stop by the Popdust offices at 20th between 5th and 6th in Manhattan—even if it’s all Buttf— wherever to her—and we’d be happy to greet her, show her around the premeses, and demonstrate to her how we’re more than just some buttf— haters. Come on, guys, think before you make such generalizations. Your words are more powerful than you realize.
