Typical Chris Kirkpatrick, really. He may or may not have been invited to his old-’N Sync bandmate Justin Timberlake’s wedding—reports differ, though we’re always more inclined to believe the reports about CK getting the short end—but regardless, he didn’t need JT’s stinking wedding, ‘coz he’s gone have a totally awesome wedding OF HIS OWN! Kirkpatrick was in Italy this weekend, site of Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s destination wedding, but it was apparently just to propose to his own girlfriend, Karly Skladany. Chris tells of the propose-cute :
We had a hotel room at the Isle of Capri, overlooking the Mediterranean. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. And it hit me: I wanted to propose to Karly. So I ran to a jewelry store, found the perfect ring and bought it.
We were sitting on the balcony with a bottle of champagne and I put the ring in her glass — I know it sounds cheesy, but it was romantic. As soon as I asked her, she said, ‘It’s about time!’ And we laughed. It was spur of the moment, but it was absolutely perfect.
Adorable. But we’re sure the proposal itself is just the warm-up act to Chris’ call to Justin to tell him the news.
Hey, Justin! What’s up? Oh, hey, don’t worry about it. No, I understand, we’ve all been busy lately. Hey, did I hear that you got married recently? That’s crazy! Oh, really, don’t sweat it, I’m sure none of the other guys were invited either…oh, JC? Well, you guys have the whole “J” thing, I get it. Well, uh, speaking of which, did you hear that I got engaged myself? Karly! Karly Skladany! No, we’ve been going out for years. You’ve actually met her several…well, whatever, the point is, I’m telling you because I wanted to get a chance to personally invite you to the wedding! You’re busy? Well, I don’t remember telling you what date…oh, need to keep your schedule open for the possibility of touring? Hey, you wouldn’t be planning an ‘N Sync reunion and forgot to tell me about it, would you hahahaha? No? Well, you have my number in case you…oh, OK, cool, I’ll talk to you later. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon. Tell Jess I said hi!
